Yes, I am that guy! The Piano was Raul’s way to express feelings, thoughts, and emotions. He played it for his family at home, at church talent shows, between basketball games, and as requested by fellow cancer buddies at the hospital. Would we frequently hear a little voice, on the other side of the curtain divider in his Stollery patient room say: “Play that one again, play that one again!” He would do it as many times as requested. Yes, I am the guy who found the strength, in the middle of my challenges, to cheer them up, to push through pain and uncertainty, to show compassion for fellow cancer patients, to lift them up, to love them by sharing the gift of playing the piano. Yes, I am that guy!
